JANUARY-FEBRUARY CHURCH NEWSLETTER
MISSION UPDATE
Dec 13th everyone enjoyed listening to a missionary from the Phillipines.
In December We collected presents and donations for Chaddock.
We made local children happy with Christmas presents
provided with the Angel Tree.
In January we will be collecting one Sunday for the Wally Martins to help
with Medical expenses and transportation expenses as he continues to go to
Iowa City for chemo treatments.
We will collecting donations for Share Food families.
CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES
Thanks to all those who participated in the Christmas programs and activities
Live Nativity-Soup Supper $160 donation to the handicap fund.

FOOD PANTRY OPENING AND OPEN HOUSE
The Sheffield Food Pantry is going to have an Open House January 9th from
9-11 am. The Food Pantry will officially open for buisiness Jan 13th 9-11 am
and 4-6 pm. What a great service to the community.
ADMINISTRATIVE COUNSEL
The new administrative counsel will meet January 14th at 7 pm due to a
conflict on the usual date. The counsel will be lead by our new chairperson,
Richard Bishop. If you are uncertain if you are a member of the counsel
please check with Rev. Kooi or Beverly. The February meeting will be at
the regular date Feb 18th at 7 pm.
MEN’S BREAKFAST
Bring your friends and family to the next Men’s Breakfast January 31st
at 7 am at the church. A sign up sheet will be passed around for food.
United Methodist Women UPDATE
There is no UMW meeting in January. The next meeting will be February 3rd
at 7 pm at the church.
LENTEN BIBLE STUDY
No other 24-hour event in human history has had more impact than the
last 24 hours of Jesus’ life. Join us starting Feb 10th on Wednesday evenings at
6:30 pm for a Lenten bible study “24 Hours That Changed Everything.”
(note Ash Wednesday we will meet 6 pm on Feb 17th) The study will be
7 weeks. There is a book everyone is to read as we go along the study.
There will be a sign up sheet at church if you are interested so we can order the books or let Leann know if you are interested by Jan 31st.
ANNUAL VALENTINES SPAGHETTI SUPPER
The annual Valentines Spaghetti Supper will be February 14th from 5-7 pm.
A sign up sheet for food donations and workers will be passed around.
Adults $6.00 and children 4-10 are $3.50, children 3 and under are free.
There will be tickets to sell ahead of time or at the door.
ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE
The Ash Wednesday service will be at the church February 17th at 7 pm.
